Marni Bellavia | About Us
Marni Bellavia, Owner

At HumaneK9 Dog Training, we feel very strongly that a successful relationship is created between dog and human by building trust and mutual understanding.  We believe in and use humane training methods that enhance the communication between handler and dog.

We teach our classes using positive-reinforcement based training and encourage the use of humane "people empowering" techniques in our classes.  We do not employ or tolerate harsh and inhumane punishment-based methods, as we feel that this type of punishment breaks down the relationship between dog and handler and in itself, escalates aggression.

We subscribe to and agree with the humane training standards set forth by the Humane Society of Broward County, The Pet Professional Guild for Force Free Professionals and The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Click here to read some of our clients' testimonials.

Cara Sandler, Agility Trainer

Cara graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in psychology and wellness leadership. She has always loved animals and been fascinated by their motivation and behavior. Cara became interested in agility in 2013 because it seemed like a fun activity to do with her dogs. Her love for agility inspired her to continue the sport with her dogs while learning the technical aspects of being able to train and instruct others learning agility.

Cara is loved by two shelties, Spirit Joy and Skylar Faith. Spirit has earned titles in agility, rally obedience, lure coursing, tricks, CGC and CGCA (Canine Good Citizen Advanced). She even qualified for the 2018 AKC Rally National Championship!

Skylar has earned titles in agility, rally obedience, tricks, CGC and CGCA as well. She is currently training for therapy dog work and would like to work with children.

Cara is passionate about helping dogs and their handlers enjoy activities together. She feels that protecting a dog's confidence and helping them be successful should always be the most important endpoint in training.
